The Picholine olive is originally from the region of Gard in Southern France. The same subtle, but distinct olive flavor that made it so popular as a cocktail olive makes it ideal for high quality olive oil. With a herbaceous aroma, slight artichoke flavor and a peppery return aftertaste, the Picholine olive is as big on taste as in size, but only produces a small amount of superb olive oil that is very fruity with a hint of bitterness.
